Simply Scrappin

This card was used with the Christmas Simply Scrappin Set from Stampin' Up. I added our new cloth by gathering it and glueing it to the card.

Many people have asked how I did the tissue box. Mine is based on Scottie Tissues. It may fit Kleenex or Puffs or any other kind also, but I haven't tried them. If they are different, just adjust the measurements.
Whatever your base color is: cut (2) 9-1/2" x 5-1/2" pieces of cardstock. Cut (1) 5-1/2" square. On the two larger pieces, score at 4-1/2" and again at 9". Fold on the score lines. On the square piece, score 1/2" on all sides. Cut on one side up to the score line at the end where the score lines meet for form a square. Do the same to the opposite side. Put sticky tape on all four sides of the square. Put sticky tape on the other pieces that are 1/2" scored. You can either put the top on as you assemble the box or assemble the box then put the top on. It doesn't really matter. Oh I forgot, before you assemble the square piece, cut a large oval in the center of the square. You can do this by hand or use the big shot. Once assembled, you can decorate as you  wish. Mine was winter themed, but I am going to do a butterfly one to match my butterfly bathroom. I might also do a halloween one after that. They are put together quickly. It is the decorating that can take some time. You could decorate it also before it is assembled, your choice. I hope this helps.

Christmas items

I was looking for a tissue box cover and found only one but it wasn't exactly what I wanted, so I ended up making my own. I love these because they can be changed out for the different holidays or seasons. The card I made is a combination of two cards I saw, one with a wreath and one with a door. I realize now that the wreath should have been smaller and the door thinner but I will make that change next card I make. That card was all punch art.

Punch Art Swap Card

This is a card I did for a punch art swap I am in.

Blog Candy for August Announced

Remember that I have decided that once a month I will give blog candy out. The only thing you have to do is leave a comment with your email address. It doesn't matter which item you comment on, just so long as it was posted during the month. The candy will be a surprise and won't be announced until the end of the month.
Well it is almost the end of the month and I am giving away:
I have used one of the stamps once but it is cleaned and you won't be able to tell it was ever used. It is the wooden stamp set. If you already have this or do not want it, please let me know so I won't include you in the drawing that will take place on September 1st. Remember, that if there is not an email attached to the comment, you will be eliminated. Good luck and keep the comments coming. I will also be giving away another stamp set to a follower very soon. Keep on the look out.

Card Art

Lynn Pratt made some wonderful cards that you can buy the tutorial for. They are a school bus, police car and fire engine. She also had a modification for the school bus to make a jeep. I have not made the police car yet but I did make the others. Our fire department is voluntary and I thought it would be a good card to send to them thanking them for their dedication. The school bus would be good for a child to give the school bus driver on the first day of school and the jeep was just a good masculine card.

Christmas Again

Here is another Christmas Card I did. I love the new Christmas DSP and the glass glitter. I hope that stays around and it would be nice to have a crystal one. When I scanned the card, some of the glitter came off ( you will see where) cause it isn't supposed to be there.. Enjoy and have a good day.

Handmade Christmas Cards

And finally here are some handmade Christmas Cards. The new textured gold paper is used on one card. It will be available in the mini as will the rest of the stamps.

Altered Halloween MDS Cards

I did the same thing here as I did on the MDS Birthday cards, just added a few accessories.

Altered Birthday MDS Cards.

It has only been two days since I posted but it seems like it has been forever, although I have been working on a bunch of cards. Here are a couple of Birthday cards that I did on MDS then added some accessories.

Happy Cards

After all my griping today, I sat down and made some cards. I desperately needed some masculine cards so I made two of them and then another Christmas card. Hope you like them. Today I am going to make a birthday card.... For myself. I turn 60 today and making cards (besides seeing my daughter which I won't be able to) is the only thing that makes me feel better.

It's My Birthday

It's my 60th birthday today and it is hard to believe that I have a 20 year old in her junior year of college. I don't get to see her because she started band camp today. That would have been the only thing I would have wanted. But at least I get to talk to her tomorrow. Hope you all have a good day.

Many Cards

I made a bunch of card last night and today. I have many more coming that just need the finishing touches. I will post them when I am done. But here are the ones I finished.

Vintage Christmas

I took two of the Christmas DSP from the mini that match the fabrics and weaved them with 1/2" lengths. I cut them to the size I wanted, embossed it with the Lattice embossing folder and glued them to my card. I added another piece of DSP like ribbon and on top of that added one of my flowers I made from the fabric. I embossed in silver (to match the vintage brad) the Merry Christmas and offset it with versamark. I really like the look of this. It has a very vintage look to it. Hope you all like it.

Fall and Winter

I used new stuff today. Most comes from the Mini Holiday Catty that most of you will receive Sept. 1st. I will be well worth the wait. I think I already ordered almost everything from it. When I go to Regionals in Baltimore, I will already have the stamp set, so guess what guys, that will be added to my stash of duplicates. Yea. Hope you enjoy these cards. If you have any questions, just email me.

New Christmas Card

I had to make another Christmas card from the new stuff from the mini.
I took the DSP from the mini and cut it into 1/2 strips then glued them in a row. I then cut what width I wanted. I made a flower from strips of material that I tore. I used one of the glitter brads in the middle of the flower. Hope you enjoy it.

Using Leftovers

I had a sample of all the DSP we sold last year. I didn't know what to do with it since they were about 3 1/2 x 3 /12 with a hole in one corner. Well, this is one of the ideas I came up with. I punched squares out of it and attached them to cardstock then took my Big Shot and cut out shapes to use. I will show you in upcoming cards the other things I did.
