Cards made over the weekend

Here are some cards I made over the weekend. A friend of mine wanted me to make a bunch of cards so she could give them to her veteran teachers on Veteran Day's so I have been working on them. Then I did a different kind of Christmas card.

On this card, I used aluminum foil with the texture plate. It really turned out well.

Flood Cards for August

Here are more flood cards I received over the weekend. I just love flood month.

This card was not posted on the SCS website as it is really a very personal card and my daughter already took it and wrote on it. This is from a friend that I have gotten close to after several swaps we have been in. We seem to have a lot in common. Anyway, she knew about the benefit for my daughter's dad to help pay for his hospital expenses. They had him on the heart transplant list but have since taken him off since he has developed diabetes and thyroid problems. He is in his early 50's and was first diagnosed with congestive heart failure 11 years ago, just after we split. It is very hard on my daughter to know that her daddy is not going to be around for much longer. But anyway, my friend Helen Roberts sent this wonderful card with a note and a donation. Like I said, Charlotte grabbed the card and wrote daddy on the front and wrote inside of it. Thank you so much Helen. It meant the world to Charlotte.
This card is from Christy and I believe it is the first business size card I have ever gotten. I really like it because it is so different.
This card came from Joan Washburn and I love the black, white and melon. I like it better than most since this is not a set I would have gotten normally, but of course I did anyway. Now I know what to do with it.
This card is from Kathi Roberts and I love the techniques she used. It is absolutely beautiful and good use for the twill ribbon.
This card is from Denise Vaughn and I too have used the stencil to stamp with. I love it. But let me give you a little advice. When mailing, either turn the card inside out with the front towards the back or use some bubble wrap the size of the card or crinkle some paper and put it on top of the card. Your card came save and sound except all the pearls were poking out of the envelope and some had black ink on them from running through the machine. I got the ink off and the card is beautiful. Thanks.

Card made from Swap Kits

Here are two cards I made from cards kits from my secret card kit Big Sis.

Birthday Cards

Here are some birthday cards I have received from SCS BRAK. Aren't they wonderful. I don't mind having a birthday when I can get beautiful cards like this.
The first card came from Karen Mackie, the next from Deb Albright and the last from Awna Stark. Thanks all.

Postings

I have been bad this weekend and have not uploaded any cards and I have many to post. I have received Flood cards, Birthday cards and of course have been making cards. But my daughter and her boyfriend came on Thursday and just left so I have been spending time with them. I will try to scan and post the many cards I have tomorrow before or after the Nascar race.

Flood Cards for August

I am a "flood victim" for August and here are the first 3 cards I received

This one is from Diana Pope. I love this card. It opens on the white Stamped part. A fun fold card.
This one is also from Diana Pope and I am not sure why she sent me two and I hope someone who was supposed to get one isn't one of these but I love them both. Thanks Diana.

This one is from Christina Barron. Beautiful and simple. The kind of cards I like. The butterfly lifts exposing the brown underneath. Thanks Christina.

More New Cards

Here are three cards I wipped up this afternoon. Hope you like them.

Big shot Cards

I have never tried to use my big shot for anything but paper or cardstock but everyone says you can run just about anything through it using the big dies so I had some glittered fun foam that has been sitting around my house for a long time so I thought I would try it out. It worked beautifully. 3 of of the cards are made using the daisy punch, one uses that and the top note die. On the two real red cards, I used the brushed silver and the brushed gold for the top note die. The odd card out is using the Ronald McDonald House stamp set which I always buy to help support them. No SU dies on this (cuttlebug instead.) Hope you enjoy today's cards.

Early Birthday Present

This pic is of my daughter Charlotte with a mock up of Kasey's car that he drove in Nationwide last Sept. Charlotte went with me to the Nationwide race and Gregg went with me to the Spint cup race. Of course both were rained out and both ended up racing on Sunday. That was way too long to sit through both races.

This is my husband with both Sprint girls and I am still wondering what he did to get a picture with both of them. lol

This is Kasey qualifying in Richmond last Sept.

This was the final of the Oct. Lowe's Race. If Kasey had a few more laps, he might have won.

This is my pic with Kasey last year after her qualified for Nationwide and before he qualified for Sprint.

Just got an early BD present from DH but won't get it until Oct. Doesn't make sense but he just got tickets to Kasey Kahne's Fan picnic and tickets to both races at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October. Can't wait. But first Richmond. Go Kasey. Sure hope he is in the Chase. He is 7th right now with 5 races to go and a couple are really good race tracks for him.

Autumn Thanks

Another card I made with the stamp set Autumn Days. I just love this set. I used the masking technique to get the wheat in back of the bird. I also glittered the wheat and the Thanks.
