Friday's Cards

I was just fooling around with the new shimmer paint and new to me the asian stamp set. I have made a bunch of new cards besides the ones I did for my sketch challenge (below) but I haven't scanned them in yet. Hope to get to them tomorrow along with new birthday cards and flood cards.

Flood Cards for August

I received three more flood cards today and I love them all.

This first one is from Michael Crawford and she used the Ronald McDonald House set. I think it is so cute, especially with the punched hearts.

This card is from Jackie Stender and it is a really rustic but nice card. I love the background stamp. I wish they didn't get rid of it.
This one is from Karen Thompson and I need to know how she did this background. It is simply wonderful. She used the daisy bigz die and I love this color combination. Very striking.
Would you believe that I did not make one card today. I stamped some but have not put one together so there will be no Thursday cards today.

Birthday Cards

I received more birthday cards today. All hand made except from my Chiropractor (l0l).

This card came from Paula Carden from the Stamp Shack. I love the Happy Birthday paper.

This card came from Jamie Hansen from SCS. The tree is embossed and it is gorgeous.
And this came from my good friends who keep my back from hurting, Dr. Jeff and Natalie.

Thanks everyone for my cards. My birthday is Monday and it's getting a little scary.

Splat!

I am a member of another forum that is not particularly SU oriented but I get a lot of ideas and resources and have made some good friends both in the US and overseas. I got this ATC card in the mail and this is what it said. You've just been hit by a Stamp Shack Water Balloon ATC! This is not a Shack Swap - it's just a RAK that has been started. Now pick 9 other Shachies to "SPLAT." Don't forget to 'splat back' anyone who has 'hit' you! Simple make an ATC with a Water Balloon theme and send it on.

This is a first for me. A kind of chain letter but with ATC's. I will have to think on this one.

Wednesday's Cards

Yea, I got my box of goodies from the mini catty today and had to play. I made three cards.

This first card is of course from the Build a Bear collection. All use the in colors except for the chocolate chip cord button.

This next card is made with Autumn Splendor and uses the DSP paper that goes with this set. Can't remember the name of it now. I used Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Really Rust ink and Twill tape. The top leaf is cut out and curled and positioned a little down from the original leaf. It is quite striking in person.
This next card also uses the acorns from the above set but also uses the the stamp set Wondering Words. I used markers to color in the stamp to match the colors of the DSP paper which I can't remember what it is called. Sorry. I used Dusty Durango for the layering.

Flood Cards for August

I received another flood card today from Debbie Hendricks. I love this set and I don't know why I don't use it more often. The new colors really look great.

Birthday Cards

I received another Birthday Card from Luanne Kilcoyne at SCS DDSS#14 Birthday Babe. I have seen tutorials on this kind of card but have never seen one up close and personal. You print on the envelope then crimp it and top it off with cardstock. I just love it. The first picture is the card out of the envy and the top.

This picture shows what the card looks like before it is opened by lifting off the top to reveal the card inside.

Here are some birthday cards I have received from my friends at SCS and the Shack.

This one is from Karen Mackie from SCS and I just love it.

I lost the envelope that this came in and the card was blank so whomever sent it, thanks. I love the simplicity and one layer.
This card is from Awna from the Shack. Aren't the lady bugs cute.
This was from DDSS #14 from SCS. I love the cut outs and rub ons. Thanks.
This was another I got where I threw the envelope out before I wrote down who sent it. I am so sorry. They also left it blank inside so I could use again.

Thanks for all the cards. It makes birthdays a little easier to take as you get older. This one is a hard one for me because I will be 59. I always have trouble with the 9's. I have all year to think "next year I will be 60," but when I turn 60 I will be fine.

Tuesday Cards and stuff

Here are some cards and boxes I made today. All the boxes are done with the big shot.

This first one is a picture of one of the boxes from the front.

This shows all three of the bigger boxes I made. The top one is on its side as you can see the bottom of the box. The other two are shown front side.

This card was made using a number of combinations. I stamped the flower images on glossy card stock then spritzed with gold ink. A texture plate was used on the bottom part and the canvas and rub ons that were in last years catty were used.

This last one is a continuation of the patriotic theme using aluminum foil. The look of the card with this type of image is really striking in person. The picture does not due it justice.

Monday's Cards

Here are the cards I made today.

This first one is made with the rub ons, crystal effects and glitter and of course the matching DSP paper and the chocolate ribbon. I just love this wide ribbon. Wish it came in more colors.

This card was made with SU card stock, ribbon and ink but the stencil is from Sizzix. But I just loved it so I had to get it. I took a dauber and brushed the raised areas with ink and added some glitter.

This is one of the new note cards and I cased this from somewhere, not sure but it was probably at SCS.
I decided to make a card using the same color paper, ink and ribbon. I dyed the ribbon with the ink using the white satin ribbon and handsome hunter ink. I used glitter around the circle to give it some depth and colored and glittered the silver flower brad which is hard to see in this picture but it too is handsome hunter green.

More Flood Cards

I received three more flood cards today.

This first card is from a set that I love but is now retired or on the dormant list. I am not sure, but I have it and love it. What I like about this swap is that you can use retired sets and colors. It's the one swap you don't have to use the "latest". You always have some "old" stuff and this is a good swap to use those up in. This is from Jeanette McGraw.

This next card comes from "The Scrap Princess" Lisa Miller. I love this card, mainly because of the lack of lots of layers. I think we can get carried away with layers. She also sent a matching envelope which is totally cool.
This last card came from Laurie Fain. I love the white embossing and matching flower. It is really cute. I wish I had this set. Something to aim for.

Sunday Cards

Here are four cards I made today. They are very simple cards and fun to make.

This card was made using the new window sheets.

This card was made using the top note die and the new DSP paper.

I used aluminum foil and the texture plate which goes with this stamp and lots of ribbon.

I use the daisy die cuts as a stencil to make this flower. I made a boo boo when inking the flower brad with the ink pad, but those things happen. Live and learn.
