Music

I just got these SU stamps, Symphony (wheel) and Music Expressions. I just had to make a card since Charlotte plays the trumpet.

February Make & Takes

For my Make & Take Class this weekend. I cased both from my friend Kim. Be sure to look at her blog. She does such a nice job. For the Valentine's card, they can either use the love or friendship stamp across the hearts and there will be several flower and get well images the class can use for the Get Well card.

New Cards

The first card has a peppermint patty under the punched "Hugs & Kisses" stamp. The second pic is the inside of the card. The Snowman Thank You card was from a friend of mine. The other two are cards I am trying to decide which ones if any to do at my Make and Take this weekend.

New Cards

Here are cards I made from card kits I received in January from two groups. In each kit you get card stock, DSP paper, ribbon, embellishments and images. You have to make at least one card from them. In the past, I have had some real challenges but these were fairly simple. But I do love making them up.

Kim's Stamp Class

Here are three cards we made at Kim's this month. I am going to case this one with the reverse masking to use in my next Make&Take Class.

New Card Pics

Below are cards that I have either received as Christmas Cards or from swaps. The only two I did myself are the snowmen ones. Enjoy!

Sad news

A very good friend of mine died the other day, but I just found out yesterday. He was only 63 and I will miss him very much. He had been sick for a long time with stomach cancer which spread all over. He did not have insurance. He was self employed and until he could get Medicare, he couldn't afford to go to the doctor when he first got the signs a couple of years ago. This makes me very mad and makes it more essential that health care be affordable to all. He was a hard working person. Both he and his wife were real estate brokers. He was the kind of person who ALWAYS put a smile on your face and this should not have happened. So to me this is a double tragedy.

Happy Holidays Everyone

It has been a while but I have been either really busy or really busy recovering from several operations. I am much better now although I look like I have been beaten up. I am completely black and blue with stitches on my stomach and lip. But I am felling better to the point that I went to a play on Saturday with Charlotte, Church on Sunday then a Stampin' UP workshop with making gifts and decorations for Christmas after Church. It is good to have Charlotte home even if it is only until the 18th. Then she will come back on the 23rd (which is when I get my stitches out of my lip and find out the results of the lesion). I have been connecting with a lot of old friends (mostly kids when I knew them last) lately on facebook and now they are all grown up. They were mostly kids I knew when we were involved in doing musicals with the Westmoreland Players. I really miss those times. I really miss doing musicals. I hate it that they don't and won't do them anymore.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

ODU Homecoming - Marching Band

I had such a wonderful but exhausting weekend at ODU. Although I didn't spend much time with Charlotte, I did get to see her perform a lot. First in the parade, then at the football game (great half time show) then at the basketball game (lost to UAB) in the Pep Band. I finally got to see her after the game and we got together with some of her friends and parents for dinner. Here are some pics of the Marching Band and Charlotte (she plays the trumpet).

Seeing Charlotte perform

I am going to ODU and seeing my daughter Charlotte perform live for the first time. She plays 4 times tomorrow. It is homecoming/parents weekend. She will play in the Marching Band for the parade and the scrimmage football game, then she will play in the Pep Band for the Tailgate Pep Party and Homecoming Basketball game with UAB. I can't wait. Although I really won't spend much time with her (will have dinner with her after the game), I can't wait to see her perform. Since my husband has to work, I will video tape it and if I can figure out how to put it on UTUBE, I will. I am taking two HS seniors that are in band and are friends of Charlotte with me tomorrow. I will spend the night at the hotel and they will stay on campus. Both are interested in entering ODU next year and want to see the band. I CAN'T WAIT!

Scrapbooking

Kim and I worked all day yesterday doing a bunch of scrapbook pages for Nascar races we went to. The Kasey Kahne Fan Club is doing a scrapbook with all the races and events Kasey has participated in the past season and they will come from all over the county. We did races from Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, VA and from Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC. We had a good time together but was glad when we finally finished. It took all day. But I think they turned out well. I did not take good pics of them before I sent them off so I don't have a record of them. I was too anxious to get them off my hands. Oh well. Hope Kasey and his family enjoy it.

Deck the Halls

Here are 4 cards I came up with for a workshop in which the person wants to only use this set. She is a music teacher and wants a musical theme. I got ideas for two of the cards from Splitcoaststampers and the other two I came up with my own ideas. I will probably tweak them a bit before Sunday, but I thought I would throw them out there now.
