Fall and Winter

I used new stuff today. Most comes from the Mini Holiday Catty that most of you will receive Sept. 1st. I will be well worth the wait. I think I already ordered almost everything from it. When I go to Regionals in Baltimore, I will already have the stamp set, so guess what guys, that will be added to my stash of duplicates. Yea. Hope you enjoy these cards. If you have any questions, just email me.

New Christmas Card

I had to make another Christmas card from the new stuff from the mini.
I took the DSP from the mini and cut it into 1/2 strips then glued them in a row. I then cut what width I wanted. I made a flower from strips of material that I tore. I used one of the glitter brads in the middle of the flower. Hope you enjoy it.

Using Leftovers

I had a sample of all the DSP we sold last year. I didn't know what to do with it since they were about 3 1/2 x 3 /12 with a hole in one corner. Well, this is one of the ideas I came up with. I punched squares out of it and attached them to cardstock then took my Big Shot and cut out shapes to use. I will show you in upcoming cards the other things I did.

Another Mini w/fabric

Here is another card made with only Mini catty stuff, the fabric, seam binding, glitter, buttons, and stamp set. Love it all....

Blog Candy

Don't forget that I need your email address when you post in case you win. I have tried to track down people who have not left one and they never responded. I would hate for you to win something and then lose it because I can't get a hold of you. For the time being, I have been giving out blog candy at the end of each month and sometimes if I feel like it to a follower. I don't know how many more months I can keep this up, but after cleaning my stamp room, I found that I had duplicates of certain things, mostly stamp sets. When I announce what the prize is, if you have it, please let me know and I will pull your name out of the drawing. These are current sets and CANNOT be sold so let another person who does not have one win it. Maybe next month you will win one you want. If you leave more than one comment, it gets counted so the more you comment, the better your chances.
Leave your email with your comment always.... if not, you will not be considered for the candy.

Ribbon Flowers

Some people have been asking how I do my ribbon flowers. Well, I take a roll of ribbon (do not cut a length just yet) and start making a running stitch at the top of one of the edges. Leave about a foot of string on the end. Just keep doing this and occasionally pull the strings together so see how the flower is looking. If it is full enough for you, then stop, cut the ribbon and thread and pull the thread tight and tie it. Then just move it around till you get what you like. Add a button, brad or whatever you want to middle and you have your ribbon. I hope this helps.

A New Card from the Mini.....

I just got my major shipment in for the mini catty. I LOVE the new fabric, even though I do not sew. I attached the fabric to the Big Shot adhesive sheets and then cut them out. I found that keeping them on the sheets and then attaching them to the card, the fabric kept its shape better. I made the ribbon flower using the binding tape. The other card was using the Simply Sent Sweet Hello and added a sentiment. Hope you like them. You will be able to order from the mini on September 1st.

Cards from Simply Scrappin'

I had a Simply Scrappin Christmas kit left over from last year and I had to do something with it. So far, this is what I made.

Blog Candy

I guess either you are new or don't want blog candy I give out monthly, at least for the time being. The only requirement is to leave a comment and your email. I also randomly give prizes to my followers, so if you care to follow me, you will get another chance. Lately I have been giving away current stamp sets and punches. I usually don't let you all know what it is until the end of the month. So keep those comments coming.

Congratulations Card

I have always wanted to make a ribbon flower and I had some organza that wasn't SU so I thought I try my hand in it. I just made it up. I took thread and did a running stitch at the top of the ribbon. I then pulled the two ends together and tied the thread. I then took a large scallop punch, cut between each scallop. I poked a hole in the middle. I attached an antique brand and then wetted the paper and stuck it in a tea candle holder to fold up the scallop edges. I used gold spritz spray and some gold pearls I had.

Blog Finds

The Late Night Stampers have someone who goes through all the blogs everyday and picks out "blog finds". I have be fortunate to be picked several times. When you go through my blog and see a * in front of the title, it means I was chosen for that card or one of the cards listed in the post. I feel very fortunate that out of all of the blogs out there, that I would be chosen. Tomorrow I will be featured on another blog find for Punch Art for Big Bird. The link to that blog in on the bottom left of my blog.

* Big Bird

I wanted to make some kids cards and I love the faces I have seen of the Sesame Street Gang but I wanted more than faces. This is my attempt to make Big Bird full size. I am not sure I like it. I will look at it for a while or if any of you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and printed out the Big Bird quote in Word using RGB to make it Tangerine Tango and printed it out on Daffodil Delight and then punched it out. I used Pale Plum for the legs because none of our new colors would match.

Singing Rudolph

Most of you know I was looking for the singing reindeer. Thanks to all your help, I found it. Here is my version of it. I made the songbook with MDS. The brown is Early Espresso, The red is Cherry Cobbler and the blue is Baja breeze. The whire was accented with moonlight smooch. I used a non SU embossing folder but when my snowflake embossing folder from the winter catty comes in, I will use that. Too bad the music one isn't stampin' up because it is actually perfect for this card.

New Cards

Here are two card I made recently. One was based on my OCW (fall) and I had an extra leaf I did using the floating butterfly technique and I used the crimper on the DSP paper. It has been awhile since I have used a crimper. Sometimes you forget all the goodies you have to play with. The next card I got the idea from seeing one somewhere (I think at my uplines house). I thought it was cute and is easy to make. I love the cog eyelashes.

More MDS Cards with a little makeover

Here are two MDS cards that I did, printed and added some accessories. For those of you wanting the stamp from Convention, well this is the one you can download. I outlined it in Daffodil Delight and colored the heart red and the wings Tangerine Tango and then used the smooch to outline the birds and the share. The always card is accented with pearls and gray brads.

Love What you Do

* Bearthday Bear

This is a little different take on the Big Shot Build-A-Bear. I cut out the bear but then added some punches to make her belly wider and her face different. I made her top with punches and her skirt was made from a 12" piece of DSP that was border punched and then sprayed with water to make it so I could scrunch it up. I just cut circles for the shoes and cut away to match the feet then colored them in.

Swap cards from 2010 Convention

My upline gave me my swap cards she got for me at convention this year. I had 90 to trade so I got back 90. I have picked out some of my favorites to share with you.
This was my absolute favorite of the whole bunch. It is from Kelly Murray. There is a tutorial at http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/06/25/isc-leaf-in-pond-tutorial. You really have to see the card in person to get the full appreciation of it.

This next one is by Lisa Sipes. I love how she has the bats coming out of the hat.

This one is from Jodi Kutz. I really like the simplicity of this.
 You all know how I love punch art and if you are new, yes I LOVE it. I have just finished a card using just punches and/or Big Shot but I will show you that later. The following cards all have some sort of Punch Art or Big Shot Dies.

This card is from Anne Heard. It is so cute.

This one is from Michelle Girardin. It uses the bird punch for the stems and flower petals.

I love Sunflowers and this is a simple one yet elegant. It was made by Vickie Mages.

Who doesn't love kissing fish? This one is so cute. It was made by Amanda Callahan who gives credit to Marti Jurnak.

Well, you want to know what to do with that new punch? This is a good suggestion. I really like this one too. It is by Jean Williams.

And last, this card has a wonderful vintage look to it. It was also made by Vickie Mages.

* 1st Christmas Card

I do so love my punches. This is a card I did tonight after seeing someone on Splitcoaststampers do a similar one. It did not come with instructions so I just had to look and wing it. I think it came out great. There is so much you can do with the owl and the bird punch. All are current SU products. The cardinal is made with only the bird punch.

Congrats to Sandi Dailey

Sandi Dailey is July's winner of my blog candy. She has given me her address so her stamp set Flower Lines and the small heart punch will be going out tomorrow. Again, congrats!

It's August 1st and time to announce July's Blog Winner
