Flood Cards for August

This card was from Miranda. I love how she used the spider web folder and went over it with white ink. I have been doing a few Halloween cards myself. I love Halloween, although this will be the first year that I won't have kids in the house all dressed up giving out candy to the little ones.

Flood Cards for August

Here are some more flood cards I have received.

I love this oriental one. The SU embossing folder goes well with this design. This is a stamp set I have been debating about getting. This card came from Kathy Gayken.
This card came from Lynda Jaggers and she is loving this swap. I like the destressed look of this card.
This card is from Kimbery Kawal and she gave the directions on how to make the card and who she cased it from. Great idea to do that but more trouble than I am willing to do so thanks. I love this card. I can see why she cased it.
This came from Alicia Wiley and it is one of those simple yet elegant cards I just love. I just can't seem to do them.
This last card came from Gina Starr and I just love Halloween Cards. I have finally earned enough to get this set and I'll get it next week sometime. I love how you popped up one of the pumpkins. Just Love It.
Now that my time is ending, I appreciate all the cards I have received. Thanks again.

Flood Cards for August

I have received a lot of flood cards in the last couple of days, but with my birthday and other things going on I have not had a chance to post, so here they are now.

It feels like the forth of July again. Wish it could be to extend the summer, but time moves on. This comes from Jennifer Bishard. I love cards that can be done just with punches. It makes it so simple, yet striking.
This one comes from Carrie and it is funny that it actually arrived on my b'day. Thanks Carrie.
This comes from Mary Peterson and she sent a nice note with the card. She and her sister and mom get together once a week and make cards. I think it is wonderful that they can share a love of cardmaking like this. They are all in this swap but I don't get the same cards from them. Thanks Mary.
This one came from Cindy and I just got this set and I just love what she did with it. I really like the design.
This carad came from Regina Gibson and I love the color combo on this one. It really stands out.
Oh, I love the autumn colors on this one and the design. I have been thinking about getting that background stamp, and now I think I will. Thanks Lori Jane Mittlestadt.
This one came from Laura Bargwell. I keep saying it, but I love the simplicity of this design. I love the linen thread wrapped around the butterfly. Thanks.
I think I am all caught up so all the prizes I need to send out will be going out shortly.

Flood Cards for August

This card came from Debbie Hurst. Thank you so much. I was debating on whether to get this set but just the butterflies on the crushed curry convinced me of that. It is beautiful.

Flood Cards for August

I received three more flood cards today and I love them all.

This first one is from Michael Crawford and she used the Ronald McDonald House set. I think it is so cute, especially with the punched hearts.
This card is from Jackie Stender and it is a really rustic but nice card. I love the background stamp. I wish they didn't get rid of it.
This one is from Karen Thompson and I need to know how she did this background. It is simply wonderful. She used the daisy bigz die and I love this color combination. Very striking.
Would you believe that I did not make one card today. I stamped some but have not put one together so there will be no Thursday cards today.

Flood Cards for August

I received another flood card today from Debbie Hendricks. I love this set and I don't know why I don't use it more often. The new colors really look great.
Thanks Debbie.

Flood Cards for August

Here are more flood cards I received over the weekend. I just love flood month.

This card was not posted on the SCS website as it is really a very personal card and my daughter already took it and wrote on it. This is from a friend that I have gotten close to after several swaps we have been in. We seem to have a lot in common. Anyway, she knew about the benefit for my daughter's dad to help pay for his hospital expenses. They had him on the heart transplant list but have since taken him off since he has developed diabetes and thyroid problems. He is in his early 50's and was first diagnosed with congestive heart failure 11 years ago, just after we split. It is very hard on my daughter to know that her daddy is not going to be around for much longer. But anyway, my friend Helen Roberts sent this wonderful card with a note and a donation. Like I said, Charlotte grabbed the card and wrote daddy on the front and wrote inside of it. Thank you so much Helen. It meant the world to Charlotte.
This card is from Christy and I believe it is the first business size card I have ever gotten. I really like it because it is so different.
This card came from Joan Washburn and I love the black, white and melon. I like it better than most since this is not a set I would have gotten normally, but of course I did anyway. Now I know what to do with it.
This card is from Kathi Roberts and I love the techniques she used. It is absolutely beautiful and good use for the twill ribbon.
This card is from Denise Vaughn and I too have used the stencil to stamp with. I love it. But let me give you a little advice. When mailing, either turn the card inside out with the front towards the back or use some bubble wrap the size of the card or crinkle some paper and put it on top of the card. Your card came save and sound except all the pearls were poking out of the envelope and some had black ink on them from running through the machine. I got the ink off and the card is beautiful. Thanks.

Flood Cards for August

I am a "flood victim" for August and here are the first 3 cards I received

This one is from Diana Pope. I love this card. It opens on the white Stamped part. A fun fold card.
This one is also from Diana Pope and I am not sure why she sent me two and I hope someone who was supposed to get one isn't one of these but I love them both. Thanks Diana.

This one is from Christina Barron. Beautiful and simple. The kind of cards I like. The butterfly lifts exposing the brown underneath. Thanks Christina.

A Thank You

I am hosting another swap that began this month and it is huge. Everyone has to send out 6 cards each and some who signed up twice has to send out 12. But in return, when your month is picked you get 39 cards that month if you signed up for one spot and 38 if you signed up for two spots, but then you get two months. Anyway, one of the new flooders sent me a beautiful card thanking me for hosting the swap. Is was so sweet of her. Thanks Kathi Roberts.
